الميثومانيا هي هوس الكذب المرضي وهو أعلى درجات ادمان الكذب. فالكذب هو خصلة بشرية سيئة مهما كان لونها كذبة بيضاء او سوداء فسيضل خصلة غير مقبولة من الجميع.لكن لم يسلم منها اي انسان سواء كذب اختيارا او اضطرار.فحتى الفلاسفة يعتقدون أن الحياة الدنيا ما هي إلا كذبة كبيرة نعيشها ونحن نعرف أن جميع حقائقها ماهي الا لعبة كبيرة لها قوانين. كلنا نتذكر شخصية بينوكيو في قصص الاطفال هاته اللعبة الخشبية اللتي تحولت الى دمية ناطقة تنبض بالحياة فصارت كلما كذب الا وطال حجم انفه. فماعلاقة الخشب بالكذب.في الحقيقة لا توجد اي علاقة مباشرة الا اذا جعللنا الخشب كمادة تتأثر بالرطوبة في الهواء مما يجعله يتمدد وينتفخ .عدى ذلك فقطعة الخشب تبقى جامدة .
فالكذب هو ضرب للمصداقية خاصة في المجال العملي .والوضيفي بحيث ان الثقة هي رأس مال حقيقي .
