هته  الكرة العملاقة ليست ديكور الزينة .بل لها دور جد مهم ويتجلى في  الحفاظ على مركز ثقل ناطحة السحاب  فتقوم بامتصاص الاهتزازات كي لا تنتقل الى الطوابق العليا .وغالبا يكون سبب هته الاهتزازات الزلازل و الرياح القوية .مما يجعل  الكرة تتحرك على نوابص هيدروليكية في .الاتجاه المعاكس للميلان لضمان توازن المبنى
